| For special reason, most studetns from junior middle of Paoai Area, Dalian, to some extend, lack enthusiasm and confidence in leraning English and most of them feel it is hard and bored to learn English. And their scores are lower than the average level of students of Dalian. It is hard for teachers to attain the goal of developing comprehensive language abilities according to Curriculum standards.One of the reasons is the single-issue of teaching and assessment. Students'knowledge and skills except for some subject can not be accepted and be developed so as to students' interest in learning English is restrained. And the second reason is that students from Paoai Area are not qualified after four years English learning in primary school when they enter junior middle school. So they have very big difficulty to get the comprehensive language abilities which include language knowledge, language skills, learning strategy and feelings and emotions. So they feel hard and lack confidence. And the third reason comes that most of the students come from special families which parents are divorced or often quarrel or don't have time to educate children. The part of students lack love and safety and plans for their future life, and of course lack of enthusiasm and autonoy towards learning.The result after a few terms'experiments showed that non-testing assessment could take effect on stuents from Paoai Area based on EPU mode. The English classes based on EPU mode could provide students opportunities to show their knowledge and skills except for English knowledge and skills especially for students who were not good at English and lack of confidence in English learning. They took part in English classes actively and gained interest in English classes. But without the support of family education, the effect of fostering stuents'interest is not steady and lasting. Often teachers made great effort and students behaved well in school but once they leave school they came back what they were who did not like learning English, did not do homework or did not do homework carefully. Especially after a long holiday, at the beginning of the semester, teachers needed to do a very tough job to make students concentrating on English learning again.In order to improve the effects of school education, this paper do an experiment on how to improve students'English learning interest through the non-testing assessment classroom with parent participating by investigations and analysis according to nonintellectual factor theory. The result shows that it can improve students'Egnlish learning interests. Forty students were selected from Grade One of Hongwen Junior Middle School as the sample. The students were required to answer the same questionnaire, which concerns parent-child relationship, learning ability, learning strategies and attitude to test, before and after the study. The rusult showed that the non-testing assessment in English classroom with parents' participation based on EPU mode improved stuents'English learning interest greatly. The effects of students learning products on parents changed student's attitude towards learning, and at the same it made family more harmonious so that it made students have long steady and positive attitude. And as a result it imporved students interest which was lasting than interest improved by non-testing assessment alone. |
