Research found that supporting system of old people in Bai areas is three-dimensional and complex, supported by many cultural elements of Bai.Above of all, the paper raises a new definition about elderly supporting: it's a life style that old people, this particular social group, satisfied all aspects of their lives; it's the consolidation of system and culture, tradition and modernity, social support and self-support. Therefore, building a system with cultural elements can maximize the effect of culture and compensate for weakness of institutional pension effectively.
