Although the Military Exchanges plays as a vital role in the China-U.S.relations, but it is also the weakest part in the China-U.S.relations. The military exchanges is an important indicator to test the relations between China and the United States. At first, the text review the history of the military exchanges between China and the United States. During the Cold War, China and the United States were confronted with serious threat from the Soviet Union. The two countries executed deeply in the military exchanges. After the cold war, the background of the international relations has changed dramatically, which interrupted the military exchanges between China and the United States for several times. Although China and the United States do not share the same purpose, these two countries have been making efforts to maintain their bilateral military exchanges. The contaction between their top-level military, mutual visits of naval fleets, military exercises and the communication of martial education become more and more frequently. The China-U.S. military exchanges had an important impact on China, particularly on the impact of the PLA and Taiwan question. At this stage, the China-U.S. military exchanges have two important functions:one is to increase the cooperation and another is to reduce the miscarriage of justice. China and the United States hold defferent ideology and values, although military exchanges could benefit both countries, unfortunately, China and the United States can not have productive military exchanges yet. In the future, China and the United States should pay more attention to seek the commons on the major points while reserving differences on minor ones. The two countries should respect each other's core interests, properly handle differences and frictions, and work together to build a China-U.S.military relations based on mutual respect and mutual benefit. Both China and the United States should strengthen strategic mutual trust, intensify exchanges and cooperation. Only in this way, the military exchanges could benefit more between these two great countries.
