| The aim of this article is to realize the scientific interpretation of Deng Xiaoping's view of truth through researching its forming condition, its basic content and its value. The main contents and opinions of this paper are as follows.The theoretical sources of Deng Xiaoping's view of truth deprived from the Classic Marxist writer's dialectical materialism epistemology. The course of Deng Xiaoping's leading the discussion of truth standard and China's reform and opening-up and socialist construction provided the practical condition for Deng Xiaoping's view of truth to form. Deng Xiaoping's special status in Chinese revolution and construction and his personality traits underlies the subjective condition for Deng Xiaoping's view of truth to form.The basic content of Deng Xiaoping's view of truth consists of three parts. Firstly, Adhering to the objectivity of truth, Deng Xiaoping proposed truth monism to against truth pluralism; adhering to the concreteness of truth, he proposed to construct the socialism with Chinese characteristics; adhering to the comprehensiveness of truth, he proposed to coordinate and balance the development in economy, politic, culture and society; adhering to the absoluteness and relativity of truth, he proposed to uphold and develop Marxism. Secondly, Based on the Marxism practical standard, as far as Deng Xiaoping be concerned, the scientific standard of testing truth lied in the fact that whether it helps boost productivity development, the value standard of testing truth lies in the fact that whether it helps improve people's welfare, and on these basis Deng Xiaoping put forward"Three benefits"standard which being designed to judge merits realized the organic unity of scientific standard and value standard. Deng Xiaoping's thoughts about standard of testing truth enriched and developed the Marxism standard of truth. Thirdly, By summarizing the positive and negative aspects of the experiences and lessons which came from China's socialist construction practices and from international communist movement, Deng Xiaoping creatively expounded the methods of pursuing for truth with the basic principle of Marxism epistemology. As far as Deng Xiaoping is concerned, the fundamental thinking method to seek truth is to emancipate the mind and seek truth from facts and the basic pathway to quest for truth is the bold exploration and brave practice. Furthermore, it needs a man not only to summarize diligently his previous experience but also to set up a correct attitude to mistake in the pursuit of truth. At the same time, a man should consciously to improve his own understanding ability and get a democratic environment which is an important condition for requesting for truth.The value of Deng Xiaoping's view of truth is mainly shown in three aspects. As far as its theoretical value is concerned, Deng Xiaoping's view of truth had enriched and developed the Marxism epistemology and underlain the epistemology and value of the Chinese characteristic socialism theory system. As far as its historical value is concerned, Deng Xiaoping's view of truth had provided a key theoretical guidance for reestablishing the ideological line of the Communist Party of China and diverting the Party's work focus to economy construction and provided the guidance of epistemology and value for ensuring the correct direction of the Reforming and Opening-up and of China's socialist modernization construction. As far as its realistic value is concerned, Deng Xiaoping's view of truth provided the guidance of epistemology and value not only for promoting China's economy and society to develop scientifically but also for China's handing with the relationship between socialism and capitalism in the contest of globalization. |
