With the development of science and technology, more and more people have began to learn and use Chinese, which makes Chinese become one of the most popular languages in the world. Meanwhile there is a sharp rise in demand about international Chinese teacher volunteers. Therefore, how to improve the cross-cultural adaptation ability of these international Chinese teacher volunteers effectively has become a hot spot issue in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This thesis, with the Chinese teacher volunteers in Korea as a subject, aims to explore the cross-cultural adaptation situation of teacher volunteers from the aspects of the Korean social support to teacher volunteers, the adaptive strategy adopted by teacher volunteers and the Korean language study of teacher volunteers. The thesis is divided into four chapters, and the main contents are as follows:In the chapter 1, the background and significance of this thesis was introduced; the progress of the study in cross-cultural adaptation was reviewed, and some cross-cultural adaptive concepts were defined, and then the research contents of the thesis were also presented. In the chapter 2, with the international Chinese teacher volunteers in Korea as the subjects, as well as questionnaire and public interview as the research method, decides the main issue to study, that is to establish a theoretical model based on the relationship between the Korean social support to teacher volunteers, the adaptive strategy adopted by teacher volunteers, the Korean language study situation and cross-cultural adaptation ability of v teacher volunteers. And six sorts of questionnaire, including the investigation of the individual situation of teacher volunteers and the situation of the cross-cultural adaptation of teacher volunteers, are designed. These have provided the foundation for the further study of the cross-cultural adaptation situation of international Chinese teacher volunteers in Korea. In the chapter 3, statistical product and service solutions(SPSS) is applied in an analysis of variance(ANOVA), correlation analysis and regression analysis of the relationship between the Korean social support to the teacher volunteers, the adaptive strategy adopted by teacher volunteers, the Korean language study situation and social-cultural adaptation as well as mental adaptation of teacher volunteers. All these analyses confirm the hypotheses that there is a certain correlation between the host-nation's social support and the cross-cultural adaptation situation of the teacher volunteers; there is a certain correlation between the adaptive strategy adopted by teacher volunteers and the cross-cultural adaptation situation of the teacher volunteers; there is a certain correlation between the Korean language study situation and the cross-cultural adaptation situation of the teacher volunteers. Then three conclusions are given. Firstly, there is a positive correlation between the social support obtained by teacher volunteers individually and the social-cultural adaptation of teacher volunteers, while there is a negative correlation between the social support gained by teacher volunteers individually and the mental adaptation of the teacher volunteers. Secondly, there is a certain correlation between the adaptive strategy adopted by the teacher volunteers and the cross-cultural adaptation situation of teacher volunteers. The integrated strategy adopted by teacher volunteers will have a positive effect on social-cultural and mental adaptation. While the segregate strategy adopted by the teacher volunteers is doomed to have a negative effect on social-cultural adaptation. The assimilative strategy adopted by the teacher volunteers, however, will have a negative effect on mental adaptation. Thirdly, the Korean language ability possessed by the volunteer will have a negative effect on social-cultural adaptation, while the Korean language ability possessed by volunteer will have a positive effect on mental adaptation. In the chapter 4, based on the analysis of the conclusion, three cues were taken, and some suggestions for further study were given.
