Paper Topic: Research On The Issue Of "Marx-Engels" Relationship

In the early 1920s, the issue of "Marx-Engels'relationship" got into the perspective of foreign academics., which started a new upsurge of research on the issue. The issue of "Marx-Engels'relationship" gradually became the main subject of their research in the course of the new upsurge. During this process many foreign scholars formed their own theoretical framework, which involved three stages of development:the formation and historical evolution of dichotomy between Marx and Engels and the conversion from dichotomy to homogeneity. With the development of he situation at home and abroad, especially the implementation of the open-door policy in China, these research and theoretical achievements abroad impacted on he the comprehensive mode of integration, which made "Marx-Engels'relationship" develop from recessive issue to dominant issue. This article focused on the logic of historical development. On the basis of historical research and critical analysis of the achievements at home and abroad, we should explore the outstanding problem in order to analyze critically, establish the correct position of research on the issue and use the dialectical hermeneutics approach. By dong these we can make a thorough inquiry into the issue of "Marx-Engels' relationship". In addition to the introduction, this thesis comprises four parts as a whole.Introduction section: Focuses on topics of significance; Researches; Innovations and difficulties.Part I:The topicalization of the issue of "Marx-Engels'relationship" and the rise of dichotomy between Marx and Engels. This part mainly studied the historic opportunity to make the issue become the topical subject. In this process, foreign scholars formed the research model of dichotomy between Marx and Engels. This research model experienced a process of development from absolute dichotomy to proportional dichotomy. With the historical development of the situation, the model realized the conversion into homogeneity between Marx and Engels. We should analyze the characteristics of these models so as to reveal their essence. PartⅡ:The process of transformation of "Marx-Engels'relationship" from the recessive issue to the dominant issue. First, this part discussed the formation and expression of integration between Marx and Engels in the traditional framework. The formation went through three phases:the understanding of integration between Marx and Engels was indirectly facilitated by Engels, through the strengthening of Soviet Marxist, and finally formed a fixed pattern in the perspective of Chinese orthodox Marxist. Second, it discussed the causes and trends of development of "Marx-Engels' relationship" from the recessive issue to the dominant issue.PartⅢ:The analysis on the outstanding issues of "Marx-Engels'relationship". This part mainly analyzed the various viewpoints about Engels misrepresented as the first revisionist, particularly the view of Bernstein and western Marxist. After that, on the basis of revelation of the essence, it realized the clarification of image of Engels as the first revisionist in two ways:by clearing of the distinction between amendment and revisionism and by recognizing Engels'amendment on Historical Materialism as the development of Marxist.PartⅣ: Dialectical understanding of the issue of "Marx-Engels'relationship". First we should re-establish the correct position by criticizing of dichotomy and complete congruent between Marx and Engels, use the dialectical hermeneutics approach to unite absoluteness and relativity in the process of understanding. By doing this we can regard Engels as the man who understands the theory of Marx and consider the understanding of Engels can not recover the meaning of works and other texts of Marx. This understanding is bound to show a lot of differences but there is more identity and fewer differences in some places or in some places there are more differences and less identity. Therefore, we should explore the differences between Marx and Engels and analyze the causes of the distance in understanding, which helps to research the issue of "Marx-Engels'relationship" in depth. And in this process we could achieve the dialectical understanding of the issue of "Marx-Engels'relationship".
