According to the traditional theory of graphology, humans' handwriting habit possesses characteristics such as particularity, stability and reactivity, and the establishing identity of hand-writer is carried out via comparing the "summation" of individual writing habits. However, it is displayed in practice and research that individual writing habits may belonging to different styles, which means it is illogical to recognize the "summation" of all individual writing habits through identifying small quantity of handwriting. We shall decide and distinguish the styles of individual writing habit that is revealed in definite handwriting system in the process of establishing identity of hand-writer.The style of writing habit refers to the corresponding distinction between two or more writing habits of someone while he owns two or more different dynamic stereotype systems in writing. Since the writing rules of Chinese characters are various and diverse, the hand-writer tends to obtain various writing skills with great differences for aesthetic preferences, disguise, imitation or other considerations. Writing systems with different skills could lead to varied styles of writing habits. One person is able to possess many different writing skills simultaneously, and these habits can be kept for long time with relative stability if there are proper "strengthening exercises" to avoid any possibility of habit deterioration. The diverse styles of writing habit can be attributed to the different targets of practice and imitation, various ways of drafting and writing Chinese characters, variation in writing speed, different periods in the writing history and other reasons. The handwritings caused by varied styles of writing habit are different but related: they are not comparable since there may be great difference in handwriting features such as varied moving, stroke orders and structure; however, when comparing to the essential variations between the writing habits of different individuals, the multiple writing habits of one person have certain commonness and connections. We can determine whether the difference in handwriting features comes from one person's diversity of writing habits through either searching for the changing rules of the inspected handwriting itself or making confirmation by comparing the inspected handwriting with the sample writing, which can distinguish itself from the differences resulted from disguise, imitation or reactive changes. And it shall be noted that the difference of handwriting features caused by specific habit styles have its own stress as to the issue of styles, that is why specific analysis is required in particular cases. Thereinto, the handwriting of signature turns into the word gathering with the most diverse styles of writing habits because of its less words, high writing frequency and varied styles, therefore, special attention shall be paid to the decide of existing diverse styles of writing habits when judging the difference in features of writing signature.A well-founded decision over the style of writing habits as well as differences in hand-writing features requires that identical or similarity shall be recognized between the sample writing for identification and the writing under inspection in aspects such as "writing time, handwriting structure and style, writing speed, writing tool, environment and posture and etc." . In addition, full consideration shall be given to the possibly diverse styles of writing habits in the inspection project. Only when adequate explanation is given to the proof of confirming or rejecting diversity, can scientific, reasonable and convincing inspection conclusion be reached finally.
