Zambia is located in the hinterland of the African; it is the first developing country of South Africa establishing diplomatic relations with China. China has given Zambia a large number of political and economic assistance, so the bilateral relations and the economic exchanges continued. Zambia developed the domestic economy, while mining is the pillar industry, and it has became the world's fourth largest copper exporter and world's second largest exporter of cobalt; the other hand, China is on the road of industrialization and face many challenges such as scarcity of resources, high growth of employment population, lack of markets for products; the triple pressure made us to go out looking for new overseas resources ;which has become a guarantee for the proper meaning of the economy. Developing economic relations is in the interests of both countries.At present, China has invested two billion Yuan in Zambia; the trade volume exceeded ten billion US dollars; China has become the largest investor in Zambia and the second largest trader between the two. The rapid development of economic relations between the two countries makes research in this field very necessary. This paper reviews the history of economic development in Zambia from the political, economic, diplomatic, cultural and other aspects, and makes comprehensive analysis of the challenges of the economic relations, and put forward proposals and measures to solve the problem. The first part describes the situation in Zambia: Zambia's economic and social development process of economic relations. The second part of analyze the potential challenges to the development of economic relations, problems respectively from the Chinese policy, the Chinese enterprise, Zambia, the international community and the economic sectors. So we should improve the macro guidance of the enterprise, implement the localization strategy, expand and strengthen international media publicity so as to promote China-Zambia economic and trade relations ,leading to a better direction.
