The Tanzania-Zambia Railway And Sino-African Relations

The African country accepts the aid to construct some engineering projects. Few of these projects have been so highly influence as the Tanzania-Zambia Railway so far. The African praises the Tanzania-Zambia Railway for "the Great Uhuru (Freedom) Railway". The Chinese calls the Tanzania-Zambia Railway for "the Friendship Railway". But the western person often pours cold water to it for a long time. In this dissertation, I mainly investigate the construction of this railway from start to finish.All arguments about constructing the Tanzania-Zambia Railway will be given selective analysis. I want to put the railway under Sino-African Relations and under international environment background that haven't attracted enough concern to study and analyze. I attempt to give some thinking materials for the development of Sino-African Relations.There are some historical causes during the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway . From the Middle 1960s to the Late 1960s , there is extensive readjustment in respect of Chinese diplomacy. China belongs to the third world country. As is known, we set a high valuation on friendship with the third world countries. Afro-Asian people fought against imperialism,colonialism,hegemonism. The Tanzania-Zambia Railway means to back the independence of African country.For both countries to build the new railway it could even be said in times of trouble. Their hunger for new railway drove them to call on other countries. But they gave them a black eye. Finally China,Tanzania and Zambia make concerted efforts to construct the railway of traversing East and Central African Countries. It contributes to trade contacts,lineside economic development and interchange of urban and rural products. By expanding economy of Tanzania and Zambia the Tanzania-Zambia Railway will be a major transport line.Generally speaking, the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway is beginning to break through the superiority monopoly of the western formidable economy and technique. A new era of Sino-African Relations is founded. China and the African country as the third world country go places by mutually supports and friendly cooperation. The Tanzania-Zambia Railway still acts the important role in Sino-African Relations. Although after railway operation, it doesn't seek to make a profit because of some factors. It is not allow to neglect that the road possessed economy,military and political strategy value. It will play the corresponding role as a main transportation skeleton between two nations and among East Africa,Central Africa and South Africa.
