The issue of "Qin Qin Xiang Yin"(亲亲相隐)has been widely debated in the past decade. Some scholars claim that the actions of "Qin Qin Xiang Yin" are corruption, others insist that they are virtues. I believe that the actions of "Qin Qin Xiang Yin" are based on the right to remain silent when we encounter unjust doings which have been done by our relatives. And in this paper, I shall argue that the actions of "Qin Qin Xiang Yin" is neither corruption nor virtues. The actions of "Qin Qin Xiang Yin" can be understood, only when they are located on the coordinate system of synchronism and diachronism. Synchronically,"Qin Qin Xiang Yin" implies the conflict between emotion and reason; diachronically,"Qin Qin Xiang Yin" reflects the clash between tradition and modernity.
