| The thesis studies Ya Zheng that is a new musical instrument appeared in Tang Dynasty. It is stringedinstrument though its name is Zheng. It was popular in East Asia. The existence of Ya Zheng in Wugang isthe evidence of the development and refulgence of ancient music. The thesis takes Ya Zheng of Wugang asthe basic research object, putting it in the historical eyeshot in theory, in the research circle of the wholeEast Asia, and investigates comprehensively according to Wang Guowei's Dual Evidence. On the one hand,the documented explanations, the characteristics of images, and musical function and so on, are observedfrom historical literature. On the other hand, archeological report to the writing and description of YaZheng combining with musical image study, from unearthed relics, the attribution of Ya Zheng in Wugangis made sure, comparing Ya Zheng of Wu Gang with Ya Zheng in Shandong Province, Fujian Province,south and north of Shanxi Province, North Korea, and Japan. Besides, combining the musical sociologyresearch, it is confirmed that the material source of Ya Zheng of Wu Gang is in the south of ShanxiProvince, through the study on the musical instrument variation due to musician's floating.From the historical dimension, the thesis retrieves the ancient literature, combines the contemporaryscholars' research results, and puts the source and formation of Ya Zheng of Wu Gang in the whole field ofmusical history. The source of the name of Zheng, Ya Zheng, and the relation with bowed, stringed andplucked instruments are investigated. In this way, the historical development of the name of Ya Zheng isclear.On its source, the thesis searches the attribution of Ya Zheng of Wu Gang, through the basicmethodology of musical image study, musical archaeology, and the unearthed relics of Ya Zheng in ShanxiProvince and other places, comparing the unearthed relics with Ya Zheng of Wu Gang. Ya Zheng of WuGang is compared with the existing related musical instrument in Shangdong Province, Hebei Province,Guangxi Province, South Korea and Japan. The attribution of Ya Zheng of Wu Gang is made sure throughthe configuration of musical instrument.The centre of musical inheritance is the musician. On musicology, ethnomusicology and musicalanthropology are the important theoretical weapon to research folk music culture. On the premise of the musicology research, the activities of Ya Zheng of Wu Gang musical culture in Henan Province areinvestigated on the spot all-rounded, through ethnomusicology, sociology and folklore. The musiccharacteristics and specific attributes of Ya Zheng of Wu Gang are investigated through music forms likeYa Zheng of Wu Gang music score, interview and record on musicians' performance.On music form, through the specific investigation on Ya Zheng of Wu Gang, it is found that theYuanmen Dadiao Tune which belongs to Ya Zheng of Wu Gang is the branch of Dadiao Tune of HenanProvince. On the musical form, the content of repertoire, the combination of musical instruments andmusicians, it is by and large the coincidence of Dadiao Tune of Henan Province. Therefore, the music formof Ya Zheng of Wu Gang has detached from the effect of the origin which is the music of Shanxi Province,and has changed a lot and melted into the music of Henan ProvinceMusical culture, accompanying the development process of human society, is an important branch ofhuman culture. If the cultural functions of music culture need to be investigated, the music should be putinto the whole social culture to research its functions and meaning. The cultural functions of Ya Zheng ofWu Gang are analyzed that it has the preaching and educating functions in history, from the culturefunction of music, through the inheritance way and repertoire of Ya Zheng of Wu Gang innovating andchanging along with times development. In the development of new epoch, Ya Zheng of Wu Gang meltsinto the culture characteristics of new epoch, and realizes the inheritance of cultural functions and thepraise to the new epoch. The thesis orientates overall and researches the music issues of Ya Zheng of WuGang through history, musicology, and culturology. |
