A Study On The Oil Paintings Of Contemporary People In Henan Province

Massive as the land of Henan Province is, Henan oil painting is comparatively younger. From its fragmentary outpourings in the period of the Republic of China,to its20years’blossom and fructification in the1990s, and now to the advanced development, oil painting alternates between joy and grief in Henan province.This article employs the brief introduction of general situations of Henan and the development of Henan oil painting as entry points to the discussion about the oil painting developing process in HeNan province. The third chapter mainly lays emphasis on stating the personality charm of four distinguished oil painters in HeNan::Duan Zhengqu,Duan Jianwei,Wang Hongjian and Cao Xinlin; and the analysis of their canvases. The fourth chapter summarizes the main formative factors of Henan contemporary figure oil painters’ theme selections,artistic styles and historical status, which arouses the thinking about the reasons and solutions of the slow development of Henan contemporary figure oil painting in the twenty-first century.
