Russell is one of the main representatives of modern correspondence theory of truth. He believed that truth is the nature of sentence and belief. The proposition and beliefs truth is rooted in outer things to correspond. In his early thought, he mainly inquired into correspondence of proposition and fact from Logic Atomism, as to how to correspond. A proposition is a sign of fact. Pact is a complex that composed of many components, which is making the proposition true or false.Proposition and facts is component, which established a corresponding relationship between every constituent of them, so it is resemble in their structure. When proposition conforms to fact, it is true. Experienced propositions can be verified through our perception, but the proposition that is beyond the scope of experience can't be demonstrated directly, which prove it true by logical analysis method. In Russell's later thought, he demonstrated the correspondence theory of truth by faith. Belief is behind of the proposition as a state of mind and body.True is the principal property of belief, what is the property of proposition in the derived sense. The property depends upon the relations of belief to other things, not upon any inherent quality of the belief. A belief is true when there is a corresponding fact and is false when there is on corresponding fact. This article mainly has five parts:the introduction, the first chapter, the second chapter, the third chapter and conclusion. The first chapter expounds main content of Russell s correspondence theory of truth in philosophy, which shows correspondence of fact and proposition, correspondence of belief and fact by the analysis of proposition, fact, belief and their structure. The second chapter analyzes Russell's correspondence theory of truth in modern logic. This chapter discusses it from four aspects in modern logic:building language hierarchy, logical calculus, theory of class and theory of relational logic. The third chapter reviews Russell's correspondence theory of truth. His correspondence theory of truth has its characteristics and edify. But it has a profound impact on the modern mathematical logic, analytic philosophy and the philosophy of language. Hence, Russell is known as the found of the modern mathematical logic, analytic philosophy and the philosophy of language.
