Research On Quotations Of Liu Yuxi

Quotations of Liu Yuxi is an valuable fiction when we study the history of Tang Dynasty. Therefore ,it is necessary to do systematic study on this book. This paper will discuss the following four dimensions:Chapter1:discussing the author of Quotations of Liu yuxi. Based on limited data, this thesis has written Wei Xuan's biography, proposing that he was born in 802 AD and died in about 866AD.Chapter2:This book was not printed out until Song Dynasty. Modification of this book had not ceased. For this reason ,the book which is popular is not the original one. Two of major modifications occurred in last Tang Dynasty and early Song Dynasty. This paper corrects 18 errors, seven of which from Quotations of Liu yuxi, eleven form modern scholars.Chapter3: The style features of the book. As a note fiction , Quotations of Liu yuxi is composed by some loose items. Some of these items can be connected though a certain way. However, most of these items are independent. The content of this is rich.Chapter4: The value of the book. It is helpful for one who studies the history of Tang Dynasty. Its historial value focuses on three aspects, namely: firstly,to add the official history books ,secondly,to help study the politics of Tang Dynasty, finally, to help understand the customs and habits of Tang Dynasty. Its historial value of literature comes from four aspects, namely, firstly,to help understand the multiplicity of Liu Yuxi, secondly, to research Liu's literature thoughts, thirdly, containing some precious literature documents, finally, preserving a lot of story of poets.
