The Visual Scan Pattern Of Emotional Facial Expression Recognition:Evidences Come From Eyes Movements

Facial expression recognition is a "presenting—judgement" pattern for investigating themechanism underlying the recognition of facial expression by using behavioral indexs such asAC or RT. How the effect of sex, type and up-down face inlfuence facial expression recognitionhas not achieved a coincident conclusion. Basing on the outcomes of forefather, this research usethe eyes movement technology to study how those three effect above influence the scan featuresof facial expression recognition。 By using the university subjects and four types of facialexpression pictures liked happy, peace, sad and angry came from CAPS and its masking up ordow'n faces edition, this research get conclusions like;(1)There has a sex effect in Facial expression recognition. Woman's speed to recognise all facialexpressions, especially the negative expressions, is faster than man.(2)It also has a type effect, the happy faces are most easy to recognise than any other facialexpressions, and the duration time and number of its uncover areas are less than other type ofemotion which absolutely contrast to the sad and anger.(3)The importance of the up-half or down-half of the face vary among its emotional type. Thehappy face more depend on down-face while sad and anger more depend on up-face, and there isno significant different between up and down face in peace.(4)There has a3-interaction effect among the sex, emotional type and up-down face, woman'sduration time is faster than man and their duration number is less than man, when theinformation of the face stimulates is complete.(5)Woman's duration time is faster than man when the information of the face stimulates iscomplete, while man is faster than woman when there only has partial information of the facialexpression.
