The Research Of The Postscripts In An Annotated Collection Of Naxi Dongba Manuscripts

The Dongba scripture's postscript refers to the descriptive language or exclamatory language, usually written the end of the Dongba scripture by some writers, but a small number of postscripts can be written in the main text, in front of the text, or on the cover. These postscripts can tell us the time and the place of completing the Dongba scripture, the name and the native place of writer, the age of the writer when he writes, some related information and good wishes. Compared with the body of the scripture, the postscript is very unique in content, language and characters, so these postscripts have a unique research value.The first hundred volumes of An Annotated Collection of Naxi Dongba Manuscripts includes897Dongba scriptures, and386of them written some postscripts. These postscripts are not only a group of very considerable number of historical data, but also a very precious cultural heritage. Therefore, they are better able to reflect the Dongba's information in various regions, the inheritance relationship of Dongba scriptures and the feature of characters used in Dongba scripture postscripts, but also reflect part of the Modern Naxi social and cultural phenomenon.In this paper, the following contains two sub-themes:Firstly, the research of writers in postscripts and their scriptures:In this part, we will be geographical to find out writers in scripture postscripts, combined with previous data and survey access revision and improve the life story of some writers. Through postscripts, seals, writing, cover and home decorative painting style, finding out the same writer's scriptures and the same region's scriptures, we will study the writing style of scriptures in various regions and writer personal written characteristics. We also select individual scriptures written by the age span larger writer for dating research, compared with other writers'scriptures from the perspective of calligraphy and content to investigate the historical evolution of Dongba scriptures. Meanwhile, comparative study scriptures in different regions can help us to investigate the horizontal geographical differences and contact of some Dongba scriptures. In the end, some problematic postscripts will be corrected, and the completing time of some Dongba scriptures will be confirmed.Secondly, the research of character usage in scripture's postscript:In this part, we will analyze the various kinds of character usage in postscripts in basis of the corresponding relation of language and characters, the feature of character used in some fixed combinations of postscripts, characters sequence and characters category. At last, we will specially study the situation and feature of characters used in fixed combinations, find out the difference of character usage, and analyze the factors leading to this situation.
