Both belonging to the derivation of the Chinese character system, Sawndip and Chu Nom characters have similar attributes with Chinese characters, and they are both used by the Zhuang and the Vietnamese to record their native languages. Based on Sawndip and Chu Nom Three Thousand Characters, this paper applies statistical classification, comparative analysis, quantitative and qualitative research methods to discuss the topic. From the perspective of character genesis and the evolution of writing system, the topic is analyzed thoroughly and deeply, investigating into character components with the most powerful structural function, especially the "(?) " radical, characters directly borrowed from Chinese characters, characters in agricultural activities, characters in marriages and cognations and characters in religious events. In the realm of ethnic language educational psychology and effectiveness, this thesis makes a careful and systematic comparison between the differences and similarities in the construction and utilizing of characters in Sawndip and Chu Nom Three Thousand Characters. Furthermore, the educational function, teaching method, educational history and current status of the two writing systems are discussed, given previous academic achievements.Several original perspective are proposed in this thesis:First, the conception of synonym,vacanym,maquenym are suggested. Second, the evolution diagrams of Sawndip and Chu Nom are analyzed and sketched. Third, the ethnic culture psychology, aesthetic sense and the spirit of ethnic consciousness in the two character genesis are studied.This thesis is divided into six chapters, respectively, discussing thoroughly from the following aspects:ChapterⅠ:Introduction. The background and significance of this topic are presented, the researching achievements of Sawndip and Chu Nom made by Chinese and foreign scholars are reviewed, and the status of the study is examined. The principles and basis of choosing character materials are explained, with a brief description of the research method.ChapterⅡ:Comparison of character genesis from multi-dimensional perspective. Sawndip and Chu Nom are compared in their origins, focused on the function and value of the two character genesis.ChapterⅢ:Comparison in the history of the two writing systems from multi-perspective. With the comparison of the evolution diagrams of Sawndip and Chu Nom, the development and achievement of the two writing systems are analyzed, in the field of comparative philology.ChapterⅣ: Academic construction with the pursuit of multi-values. It is studied, respectively, in the sphere of comparative philology, the value of ethnic education and international regional cooperation.ChapterⅤ: The educational reconstruction of the two writing systems in the multi-cultural context. The reshaping of ethnic status in the two writing systems is discussed, with respect to the background of globalization.ChapterⅥ:Conclusion. Not only The main efforts and important conclusions, but also the defects and deficiencies in this thesis are summarized.
