| Translation is a cross-cultural communication activity with the sign transfer as the means and the semantic regeneration as the task, in other words, translation is the cross-cultural communication based on language transfer. Therefore, transfer is indispensible to translation and transfer competence plays a vital role in the translation process.As the theoretical analysis model to explain the relation between language and context, contextual analysis model has been widely interpreted and applied in the field of language study in recent twenty years. The contextual analysis model influenced by functionalist contextual translation view primarily concerns the relation between three situational contextual factors and translation. Therefore, functionalist contextual analysis model is also referred as situational contextual analysis model. However, in specific contextual analysis, apart from situational factors, contextual factors such as language and cultural aspects also play an important role in semantic understanding and generating. Therefore, based on contextual translation view, i.e. linguistic context, context of situation and context of culture, contextual analysis model is used to interpret transfer competence which is broken down into three sub-competences, i.e. cultural comparison competence, situational comparison competence and linguistic comparison competence. A new development model for transfer competence is formulated through delimitations to three sub-competences and example interpretation. Meanwhile, the validity and feasibility of top-down contextual analysis model to develop transfer competence is tested by the questionnaire and case study. And a few methods to cultivate transfer competence in translation teaching are proposed in the end.Under the guidance of contextual translation view, using the contextual analysis model to discuss development model for transfer competence can not only enrich the connotation of transfer competence, but also provide certain theoretical evidence and practical methods to improve the translator's transfer competence and even the translation competence. Contextual analysis model has a positive impact on building an effective translation teaching model and improving the quality of translation teaching. |
