Language transfer has long been the research topic for foreign language educators. The influence of mother tongue habits and knowledge in foreign language learning to the target language acquisition, is mother tongue transfer, in fact, language transfer is not only the transfer of the mother tongue, the transfer between second language and third language should also be focused on. This paper is the study of the transfer between second language (English) and third language (French), this transfer concludes positive transfer (positive effect between English and French learning), negative transfer (negative influence between English and French learning). In the study of negative transfer, the author did the empirical study of the writing of French students. Finally the author concluded how to teach effectively French as a second foreign language in language transfer theory. |
