As the development of globalization and increase of trade, advertisement plays a more and more important role in cross-cultural communication, which has stimulated global trade as well as the development of other business activities. To translators, there are not any perfect methods of translating; furthermore, the condition of training those translators is pretty limited. And people do not pay enough attention to the training of advertisement translating. The paper brings and analyzes the relation between translating theory and translating validity on basis of relevance theory, and manages to find out the solutions of reaching optional relevance and high translating validity from the perspective of relevance theory. The paper is made up of six parts: the first part is the introduction, and this part introduces the research background, methods and paper's structure. The second part is the introduction of relevance theory and relevant background information. This part emphasizes on theoretical background structure, i.e. the relationship between relevance theory and translating validity. The third part is the general knowledge of advertisement. This part gives a prosperous introduction of advertisement, which covers the definition, classification, function and language features of advertisement. The forth part is the advertisement translation based on relevance theory. This part makes a comparative analysis among all factors which influence the translating validity. The fifth part proposes the way to improve translating validity, and this part gives us methods of solving the problems of advertisement translation. The last part is conclusion, and this part will give us the findings and the limitations of the paper.
