Hanshan was the elite of Buddhism reviving in the late Ming Dynasty. As a Buddhist, for his special education experience, Deqing was proficient at three teachings. Deqing got the essence from the classics of Confucianism and Taoism to compromise three teachings. Deqing underwent a lot of hardships through his life. When he was a hanschild, he was fond of Taoism, but eventually he converted to Buddhism. He tried to revive the Buddhism. In all his life, he wrote a lot of books about Buddhism. When he was 75,he wrote the "Annotation of Zhuangzi" for his followers. In this dissertation, by the analysis of this book, the author explains the motives and conditions of Deqing's annotation of Zhuangzi, and gives the idea of Deqing's explaining Zhuangzi by Buddhism, which had the influence on the development of Buddhism in the late Ming Dynasty.This article is divided into four parts :The first part is to study the background of Deqing's thought, especially describe his experiences in detail, which played an important part in conditions for the annotation. In addition, the author explains Deqing's annotation of the book.The second part ,which is the key part of this dissertation, is to circumstantiate the content system about "the Annotation of Zhuangzi", which reflects Deqing's idea of explaining Zhuangzi by Buddhism, .The third part is about the characteristics of Deqing's annotation. In this part, the author discusses Deqing's Buddhism thought and the thought of unifying three teachings on the basis of Buddhism.The fourth part is to conclude the methodology of Deqing's annotation and the significance of "the Annotation of Zhuangzi" in the development of the Buddhism in the late Ming Dynasty.Based on the explaining of Deqing's annotation, the article describes the ideological background of Buddhism's reform in the late Ming and its positive contribution to the revival of Buddhism, which shows us the general trend of the thought in the late Ming Dynasty. Deqing's annotation was bound to reflect this trend.
