A Study On The Conceptual Transformation Of Chinese Photography In 1980s

Since the new century, many new phenomena and new ideas in the field of photography have emerged one after another. Dislocation of photography values and chaos of photography market need the history urgently to provide a reliable reference text. This study selects of the history of Chinese photography in 1980s as the research object, which can resolve these realistic problems effectively. The 1980s is a crucial period of reconstructing Chinese photography values, an important stage of serve as a link between past and future and the beginning of the revival of Chinese contemporary photography, so it must be cardinal point to reflect on the past in the light of the present and evaluate photography value.This study adopts the method of putting historical narrative first and emphasizing the combination of theory and history. on the basis of collection of history material, this study takes Chinese social, political, economic, and cultural background in 1980s into account, focuses on photograph events, photographers, photography groups, important controversy about photography, takes evolvement of photograph body as the central clue, analyses fair and objectively the cause of transmutation of photography concept in the 1980s, gets the transformation of photographic concept in the 1980s from objective representation to subjective expression into shape, thus completing writing the history of photography in 1980s.
