The Reading Comprehension Of Xiongliang's Original Picture Books

Xiongliang is the celebrity who you can't avoid during the China's original picture books development and his creation which based on the concept of traditional Chinese culture was highly praised by many experts. The paper takes three series of Xiong's works for example. They are "picture books in China" series, "Charm of China" series,"Wild Child" series. So as to find same features of domestic picture-books during the reading comprehension of his works' characteristics and shortcomings and look forward to do some beneficial explorations for the creation of original picture books.Picture books is the unique form of artistic expression after the re-creation of language and painting. Experts, scholars and some in-service teachers pay the increasingly attention to the Children's picture books' educational value during the Children's development. But at present many foreign picture books in market make today's kids are not familiar with the Chinese traditional culture. In order to give our children a "memorable China", Xiongliang creats a series of picture books contain the traditional Chinese cultural elements with the love of traditional Chinese culture. Where are the Chinese characteristics of Xiong's works? What are the shortcomings compared to the foreign excellent picture books?This paper takes three picture books series as example. They are "picture books of China", "Emotion of China", "wild kids". Xiongliang's original picture books are based on traditional Chinese culture, reflecting their unique artistic features. They include Spiritual harmony, Vivid Imagination, False or true complement, correspondence between heaven and human. In addition, they also draw lessons from traditional Chinese elements to expand the content of the story, such as opera, paper cutting, ink painting, stone lions, folk festivals, totem, clay, etc.. But compared with the excellent picture books, Xiongliang's original picture books have some shortcomings in the depression story through picture, graphic relations, Childlike and text style. In addition, China original picture books still lack local special classic, "Chinese characteristics" is too formal and the development of original works is too slow. This paper also attempts to puts forward some constructive suggestions to original Chinese picture books.
