Modal verbs in Chinese are difficult for Korean students to learn. Therefore, in order to let Korean students learn and grasp modal verbs faster and better, and to improve the efficiency of teaching , I investigated the biases which students often make from the perspective of teaching. I also summarized the types of biases, analyzed the reasons and offered some teaching advices of mine.Five parts are divided in this paper:Part one includes: researching purposes, objectives and summary of this field. Part two gives an account of three expressing features of modal verbs in Korean corresponding to Chinese are Depen dence Noun,Suffix,Auxiliary adjective. Part three makes a contrast in"will"and"want"﹑"dare"﹑"shall"﹑"worth"and"能﹑会﹑可以"between Korean and Chinese modal verbs. Part four analyses the bias that may occur while using modal verbs and the reasons according to questionnaire, the modal verbs are"will"and"want"﹑"dare"﹑"shall"﹑"worth"and"能﹑会﹑可以". Part five advices toward teaching methods of modal verbs in both Chinese and Korean are offered through analysis of the biases that occur among Korean students, which are in aspects of overall design, class teaching and exercising design. I strongly believe that by strengthening theory research and improving teaching practice, it's possible for Korean students to reduce or even avoid bias when using modal verbs in Chinese.
