From the end of the Second World War to the collapse of 1992 the Soviet Union, the world formed a US-Soviet bipolar world characterized by confrontation of the Cold War. This pattern influences the post-war foreign policy of most countries. China's policy to Africa is no exception. This dissertation, based on mastering historical facts completely, makes the Cold War and China's policy both organically link. From the external environment of China, it discusses the Cold War's impacts on China's policy. To explore the deep reason for influencing China's policy to African and to illustrate the Sino-African relations in the Cold War all-round is beneficial for understanding today's Sino-African relations more comprehensively, while it also has important significance to predict the future trend of Sino-African relations.It includes introduction, body, conclusion and references. Body consists of three parts, namely the formation and development of the Cold War and China's policy to Africa,the features of the Cold War of China's policy to African,Cold War's impact on China's policy to Africa. The first part focuses on the status and the role of Africa in the Cold War structure and the pattern of China's foreign; the second part, from three aspects of ideology, economic assistance and international united front, analyses the characteristics in the Cold War of China's policy to Africa; the third section summarizes the impact of the Cold War on China's policy to Africa, that owing to the impact of the Cold War, China's policy to Africa lacks a certain independence, the Sino-African relations embody some uncertainty, and the Cold War makes the comprehensive cooperative relations between China and Africa become more difficult.The explanation of the characteristics in the Cold War and consequences of the China's policy to Africa, is not the deny of the basic principles and characteristics of China's policy to Africa during the Cold War. And its purpose is to explore the special connation of the Cold War to China's policy to Africa. The options and the policies remain the important content of China's policy to Africa, which the former is about the basic starting point of China's diplomacy in developing countries including African countries; and the latter is about the supporting the pursuit of political independence for African countries and developing national economic policies. The above should be affirmed.
