A Study Of Compilation And Existing Situation On The Ancient Local Records For FuJian Province

The research subject of this paper is the local records of Fujian province which compiled before 1949, including local chronicles of prefecture, state,county, town of Fujian province. Based on the materials collection and survey of the literature, referencing a variety of chronicles catalogs and books, author summed up the editing features of each period. And comment it from the compilation style, content and historical value on the basis of statistical analysis.Before the Tang Dynasty, economic and cultural are relatively backward of Fujian province, the number of local chronicles less than 5. In the Song Dynasty, as the country's political, economic and cultural center moved south, economy and culture of Fujian province has achieved rapid development that promoted compilation of the local chronicles. The oldest local records of Fujian province is "Chun Xi San Shan Zhi",which written by Liang Kejia in Southern Song Dynasty. Yuan Dynasty is the low period of compilation of the local chronicles of Fujian province,12 local records have been lost completely, only from the "Yongle Dadian", "Ba Min Tong Zhi" and other books see a part of the words.Local chronicles compilation of the Ming Dynasty is the boom, but also the largest number of Fujian editing period of local history, and has the first provincal local records of Fujian province, "Ba Min Tong Zhi",which mainly compiled by Huang Zhongzhao, compiled in 1485 to 1489, inscribed in 1490. Either in style or content, it had a great impact on the later local records of Fujian province. Statistics shows that local records of Fujian province in the Ming Dynasty is 292,and 210 has been lost,82 exsiting.Local chronicles compilation of Qing Dynasty is the peak period, it is not only a huge amount of existing, the quality is also higher, and has a lot of masterpieces. According to my statistics, local records of Fujian province in the Qing Dynasty is 242,and 59 has been lost,183 exsiting.Local records of Fujian province in the Republic of China has been lost 5, exsiting 86, which contains most of the local textbook,it played an important role on the popularity of local history, geography, and other human knowledge.
