Study Of Chinese Subtitles Mistranslation In Korean Film And Translation Course Design

Nowadays, due to a great increase of sino-korean exchanges of all sorts, as economy, science, education and culture, sino-korean relation becomes more and more important. Therefore, there are more demand of qualified person that can freely used Korean and Chinese for communicate lately. Especially in film culture, not only play an important role for the communication between the two countries, but also can apply some interesting new themes for the translation course, and Korean students can more effectively learn Chinese. However, there are some problems with the Chinese subtitles for Korean film. This paper using South Korean movie《Scandal Makers》for example, and make detail analysis of the film characteristics and Chinese subtitle translation problems, explore the causes of these problems. At the same time, through Korean students translation experiments and questioner,put forward practical translation of Chinese film studies and misinterpretation solutions.First, this dissertation gives an introduction of the topic, the goal of this research and its utility. Then this dissertation makes a brief introduction about translation methods theories, movie translation characteristics and causes that can influence the movie translations.After that this dissertation will analyze the case of the movie Scandal Makers, particularly grammar, vocabulary, cultural errors and translation methods mistakes.The fourth part of this dissertation will deal with the translation course in Korea for students to translate Korean movies from Korean to Chinese. In the aim to discover what kind of difficulties Korean people have to translate Korean into Chinese, the dissertation analyzes the results of the Korean-Chinese translation experiment conducted by two Korean Chinese learners. As the experiment indicates, it's also noticed that there has been an increasing requirement for translation courses in Korea recently, so a solution to solve movie translation recurrent mistakes and make translation in a more precise and standard way is becoming more and more vital.Finally, this dissertation makes a conclusion about this research and tries to find our thesis lacks and a way to make it better.I hope that through this research, we can standardize the Chinese Korean film subtitling, more effectively disseminate Korean culture and put up a connection and cultural exchanges between China and South Korea. Under the achievement of this research, this dissertation aims to solve the translation problem of Korean movies, and turn the Korean movies to a true link between Chinese and Korean culture. On the other side, the dissertation makes efforts to create a sort of movie translation lesson, so as to teach students how to translate Korean movies into Chinese in a more correct and efficient way and enable the Chinese people to better enjoy Korean culture.
