Psychological Research On New Generation Of Migrant Workers' Dignity

Dignity is born a spiritial need which means to respect others and self-pespects. Moreover, it is necessary for others and society to respect our exisiting value.Our country's second generation peasant workers are a type of mergering group. To make a second generation peasant workers'questionnaire adapting to our country's situation and find out their related factors and current situation is conducive to improve the level of their mental health, and play role in building a socialist harmonious society. This research bases on previous studies and makes a second generation peasant workers'questionnaire to measure to 1043 new peasant workers from 4 cities all over the country in the way of cluster random sampling. Analytical results showed as follows:1.The self-designed second generation peasant workers' questionnaire about dignity is composed of 28 topics, which has good reliability and validity. The questionnaire satisfies criteria of mental surveying, and thus it can be used as the tool to survey and assess second generation peasant workers' dignity.2. To analysis of the factors of second generation peasant workers' dignity gets six factors: Professional dignity, institutional dignity, self-dignity, human dignity, national dignity and life dignity.3. At present, second generation peasant workers'dignity is at middle level. The scores of six dimensions'dignity from high to low are as follows: National dignity ,interpersonal dignity, professional dignity, life dignity, system dignity, self-dignity.4. Second generation workers' dignity has significant differences in gender, age, education, work and stable situation, job duties, working hours, income, marital status, their parental status and cause of work. Among them, women were significantly higher than that of men; the dignity of 16-20 years of age have lower level; The higher education is, dignity is higher; Stable work was significantly higher than instable; The high level of dignity always show on the positions; People who work 1 year have lowest level of dignity which similar to the monthly income of 800 yuan; Divorced or widowed were significantly lower than married and unmarried; People who parents work outside have the lower dignity; to develop their own Career or to earn money for the dignity of migrant workers a high level.
