Life by Lu Yao plays an important role in the history of contemporaryof Chinese literature. I translated three chapters of this novel. According to theRelevance Theory, the thesis analyzes the translation version from the followingrespects: cohesion of the motions, emotions and definitions and reconstruction ofintention and context. It illustrates that the translation version can be dynamicallyequivalent to the original novel and faithfully demonstrates the true spirit andessence of Life by using the strategy of contextual reconstruction in the process ofC-E translation.
