A Study On The Feasibility Of The Application Of Shan Xiumei's Puppets Art Into Even Animation

With its unique artistic charm, Chinese animation, which is recognized as "Chinese School" in the world, attains the recognition and has a good reputation in the international animation industry. As is known to us all, folk culture plays an important role in Chinese animation. What's more, with the brilliant picture, 3D animation succeeds in entertaining the audience with a new visual enjoyment, and quickly establishes its position, making competition more intense among various animations. Faced with this competition, even animation develops at lower speed. For example, with the large influx of the United States and Japan's animations, the living environment of Chinese animation is becoming poorer and poorer. Meanwhile, neither the 2D animation nor the 3D animation could manage to fight against the United States, Japan and other major super animation manufactures. So does the even animation. The path of even animation is extremely difficult and few excellent even animation works have been appeared until now. However, there is great room for the development of even animation. What we should do is to integrate the modern Chinese folk culture into even animation, making it an important element to promote the development of even animation.Based on the situation and problems above-mentioned, the author determines to study Shan Xiumei's Puppets art, which has a characteristic of Western-style, and makes an investigation on the feasibility of the application of the Puppets art into even animation from the perspective of the traditional folk culture. The author hopes to catch the public's attention to the application and reference of the multi-ethnic traditional culture, which in turn, could promote and be a power source of even animation.There are five chapters in this paper. Chapter one gives a brief introduction of the background, the status home and abroad, the related definitions, the purpose, the method and the innovations and disadvantages of the paper. Chapter two makes a further analysis on the types, the production methods and artistic characteristics of even animation. What's more, to highlight the characteristics of even animation, the author compares it with the 2D and 3D animation, which is the theoretical foundation of the paper. Chapter three makes an investigation on the category, image, color and other aspects of Shan Xiu-mei's puppet art from the perspective of even animation and provide a source of the creation of even animation. As well as this, the author expounds the feasibility of the application of the Puppets art into the even animation. Chapter four makes a further analysis of the problems arising in the application of Shan Xiu-mei's puppet art based on the dual principles of animation production. Meanwhile, the author provides the possible solutions to the problems based on the production process of even animation, which makes the paper more practical and meaningful. Chapter five makes a conclusion on the significance of the application of the Puppets art into the even animation.Through the analysis of the characteristic of Shan Xiu-mei's puppet art and the feasibility of the application of the Puppets art into the even animation, the author intends to provide a new element and idea for the production of even animation as well as further expands the development space of even animation, which in turn, could achieve a better combination of the puppet art and even animation.
