The seven Hetuvidyā comes from the Yogacara's Yogacara bhumi sastra. Itcomprehensively expounded issues in argument such as language, context, sadhana,negligence, conditions, psychology, appreciation of the beauty, and sustain the wholeolder Hetuvidyā theory, which is very typical. Furthermore, Discovering andcomparing the connotation of the seven Hetuvidyā, as well as conferring modernlinguistic explanation and new-brand examination from significant and originalliterature and classical writings, is indispensible in researching Indian Teachings In. Italso possesses precious academic value in sequencing logical history and in studyingmodern logic.Based on the analysis of debates about its source and school background, thedevelopment of the seven Hetuvidyā can be divided into three stages. From bud stageto identify stage and then to complete stage, an unique and relatively complete systemof debate learning has been gradually formed. Meanwhile, with seven chaincomponents and the "theory of the age" as the core, and a clear exposition of allaspects of debates, a theoretical framework which explains reasons from sevenperspectives is built. In addition, the use of research theory and methods of pragmatics,psychology, logic and other subjects provides modern interpretation of the sevenHetuvidyā. Finally, through a comparative analysis, the achievements and limitationsof the theory are discussed, and the fact that the seven Hetuvidyā is both an importantpart of old and new teachings in and a theory with very important modern researchvalue is affirmed, and thus the task examining the the seven Hetuvidyā exactly isaccomplished.This dissertation aims to simplify obscure terms of the seven Hetuvidyā inoriginal literature by using popular language pattern, enumerate the sevenHetuvidyā's correct concept, fine deduce and shortcomings from new angle, comparethe similar thinking pattern of the seven Hetuvidyā with western form logic andmodern logic. The dissertation lays sound theoretical foundation for more thorough and better understanding the deep-going connotation of the seven Hetuvidyā, makesrudimentary supplement for more vivid and distinct elaborating the wisdom of Buddha,has motivated the reflection of practical the seven Hetuvidyā and establishment ofhistorical logic view.
