The structure of far-object followed by the predicate is a very characteristic sentence pattern in modern Chinese. This paper focuses on the analysis of this sentence pattern from three perspectives: syntactic, semantic and pragmatics. The major theoretical issues of the paper are summarized as follows:Firstly, the author summarized the criterion of the double-object structure based on the studies of the predecessors, divided the double-object verb into bivalent double-object verb and trivalent double-object verb based on the syntactic pattern and semantic entailment test, and analyzed these verbs in detail.Secondly, based on the analysis of a large number of the linguistic data, the author summarized the syntactic and semantic conditions that the far-object could followed by the predicative construction, did a further analysis of the syntactic characteristics and semantic relations between all the parts of the structure of far-object followed by the predicate.Thirdly, this paper differentiated and analyzed the structure of far-object followed by the predicate with the double-object structure, subjective-object sentence and serial-verb-sentence, pointed out the similarities and differences between these sentence patterns. At last, the paper tried to analysis the mechanism of the structure of far-object followed by the predicate simply, that it is an event-integrate structure, and has its own pragmatic characteristics such as simple and economical, the information focus backward-shift. The author also takes into consideration on the sentence pattern nature.
