This dissertation focuses on the key project management practices for video recording in contemporary movie and television industries. Detailed analyses are provided in terms of the key success factors of project management in video recording industries, including project scope, project schedule, and cost control. Specifically, the producers need to take into consideration the entire process of video recording, and pay special attention to various stages of the projects, including project planning, project establishment, and progress management. During the actual shooting, close monitoring and control needs to be made in order to ensure the compliance with planned schedule for the entire shooting team.Based on the above discussion, this dissertation further applies theory to practice, and provides detailed analysis of two cases. The first case is the American movie"Gateway to Heaven", which lost control in the shooting process and eventually caused the company to go bankruptcy. The second case is the successful shooting of documentary,"My sun,"by the Chinese Education Television Channel. Through the cases, four critical success factors for project management in video recording industries were identified, including project planning, shooting schedule, quality of product, and cost control. |
