| The purpose of the study is mainly discussed about the development strategic of the Malaysian Chinese Independent School. The Chinese independent school was founded and funding by the Malaysian Chinese Community. There are a total of 61 Chinese independent schools in the country, is a type of private high school in Malaysia. The dilemma of Chinese independent school was come from the Malaysia Education policy, and also the challenges from the National type Chinese Schools (sekolah menengah jenis Kebangsaan).The history of the Chinese education in Malaysia is almost 190 years. The existing of the Chinese independent school was playing an important role on the development of Chinese education in Malaysia and even South East Asia. Currently, the Chinese independent schools collect school fees from student, most time they needed donation from public to maintain the school expenses. Meanwhile, some Chinese schools also cooperation with the business community, through a mutually beneficial way to secure the financial problem for sustainable development. Since the Chinese language holding an important role in the world, and the Malaysia Government slightly changing their attitude and education policies, the future of the Chinese independent schools become brightness and prosperity. However, at this crucial moment, the Chinese independent school demands a more specific development guideline. Otherwise, because of financial issues it will easily degenerate into elite schools and abandoned the spirit of the traditional Chinese education.Therefore, the research method will focus on the history of Malaysia Chinese Education, by comparing the education policy of the British Colony Government and Malaysia Government at the different time. Besides the historical details and Statistic work, this article also refers to some civilian scholar's research work and the news info, in order to can clearly analysis the big picture of the development of Malaysia Chinese independent schools. |
