People can explore the cognitive characteristics of the reading process by recording and analyzing eye movements. Classical Chinese is important and difficult part of Chinese teaching which plays an important role on inheriting Chinese traditional culture. However, the most of domestic research emphasized on reading comprehension results(reading score)to indirectly suggested reading comprehension process which just provide specific empirical methods on Chinese teaching. There is an only one paper studied eye movement of Classical word layout characteristics. So far, no one has inspection eye movements on different styles of Classic Chinese reading.This study researches the eye movement characteristics and differences of Classic Chinese for Uygur and Han students at different difficulty levels and different style. We use Classic Chinese as the experimental material which is different from the modern articles. This is the first paper to research eye movement characteristics on different styles of Classic Chinese including narration, argumentation and prose and firstly joined the Uyghur university students as subjects which accumulate the valuable data for pattern of Classic Chinese reading and try to solve the problem of style of Classic Chinese teaching and Uyghur students teaching.This study recorded the eye movement process of Classic Chinese reading of 30 Uygur and Han students by EyeLinkâ…¡. The study includes two experiments. The first experiment explored the different eye movement of Classic Chinese of Uygur and Han students in different difficulty level. The second experiment explored the different eye movement of Classic Chinese of Uygur and Han students in different styles.The experimental conclusions are demonstrated as follow:1. For subjects of different groups reading text with the same difficulty level and style, there are significant differences between two groups on the all indicators of reading and the eye movement which shows the level of Classic Chinese reading of the Han college students is better than the Uygur college students'. This illustrates the experience of reading influences the reading process of Classic Chinese reading.2. For subjects of the same group reading text with different difficulty level, there are significant differences between two groups on the indicators of reading and the eye movement except only reading speed and time of fixation which shows the reading comprehension of easy material is better than difficulty material'. This illustrates the difficulty level of materials influences the pattern of eye movement.3. For subjects of the same group reading text with different style, there are significant differences between two groups on most of the indicators of reading and the eye movement which shows the reading comprehension of narration is the better than argumentation and prose respectively. There are significant differences of the reading scores among narration, augmentation and pose. There are significant differences of the time of fixation between narration and pose. There are significant differences of the number of regression between narration and argumentation; there are significant differences of the reading scores between pose and argumentation. There are significant differences of the time of fixation between pose and narration and argumentation.
