Sociology Study On Rural Folk Belief

Folk beliefs is a unique religion culture, which has been deeply rooted in the mind of rural resident long before.The academic has paid more attention on folk beliefs. Empirical study of sociology is used in this research.The concept of folk beliefs is operationalizeed as god beliefs,ghost beliefs and ancestor beliefs.In order to clarify the beliving situation of god,ghost and ancestor and the individual difference of folk beliefs,statistical techniques is used to analyze survey datas in this research,and the cases interview data were supplemented.The end,the research analyses function of folk beliefs from theory and survey datas.The research is divided into five parts:The first part proposes the significance of folk beliefs. To explain the concept, feature and function of folk beliefs and the influence factors of folk beliefs. To propose design of research, in order to make up the deficiencies of the folk beliefs research of other disciplines, the qualitative research and quantitative research methods have been used in this research.The second part introduces the economic situation and belief circumstance of the Qitang village in Gannan area. And introduces the basic features of the sample.The third part,to analysis the beliving situation of god, ghost and ancestor in rural communities based on investigation data.Then, the research analysis individual beliving difference of folk beliefs from six factors, such as gender, age, education, occupation and health.The fourth part, the research explains the funtion of folk beliefs which consider as special religion from theory at first. Then, the research explains the funtioning situation of folk beliefs from the nature cognition situation of folk beliefs, the management situation of folk belief and the effect of folk beliefs.The fifth part focuses on the conclusions, discussion and inadequate of the research. The research explains the conclusions from the utilitarian, influence factors and funtion of folk beliefs. The research further explains the folk beliefs situation from social circumstance, individual factors and policy.
