In the 20th century, the history of Modern Chinese Literature,the writer,Wu Mingshi,is undoubtedly an unique style, outstanding writer.His《Wu Ming Shu》can be absolutely called magnificent, gorgeous scenery .The features of Wu Mingshi is that he devoted himself to pursing the "metaphysical" ,Which led to his double "edge" position: on the one hand, the edges of power and politics structures, on the other hand ,the edge of the Mainstream literary.At the same time , the features affected Wu Ming Shu's early romance novels ,which show unique "metaphysical" philosophy of flavor,because of the pursuit of "metaphysical ",In his latter Masterpiece《Wu Ming Shu》, Wu Mingshi created a hero called Yindi,who experienced and conquered Various difficulties, finded the truth of phenomenon, searching for a living world of "metaphysical" for humanbeings. This paper intend to analyze Wu Ming Shi's writing from the earley love story to the latter《Wu Ming Shu》,according to the intrinsic main clue of"metaphysical"exploration, which goes through all Wu Ming Shu's works, combining with different cultures. So as to reveal that the significance of Wu Mingshi who was away from the Main-trend Ideology.The whole thesis consists of five parts:Foreword: The first part emphasizes on the features of"Metaphysics exploration"of Wu Mingshi and the significance and trys to outline the image of Wu Mingshi,who is a"Metaphysics exploration"writer in Chinese modern literature,then, introducing nowadays research condition of it in and out.ChapterⅠ:The first part introduces the trait of"Metaphysics"of Wu Mingshi's romance novel and analyzes on them.ChapterⅡ: The second part analyzes on the works, just as《Beast·Beast·Beast》《Hai Yan》《Jin Se de She Ye》《Si de Yan Ceng》,to demonstrate the process of Yindi who is searching for the true meaning of life for the sake of human in the area,such as revolution, love, degenaration and religion,and to point out this kind of exploration failed at last.ChapterⅢ: The third part analyzes on《kai Hua Zai Xin Yun Yi Wai》and《Chuang Shi Ji Da Pu Ti》.The former reveals cosmology,the latter Yindi eventually achieved himself and created his utopia. Conclusion: The sixth part emphasizes on the pursuit of"Metaphysics exploration"which goes through Wu Mingshi'-s writing,《Wu Ming Shu》is his great work about it. As Shi Tiesheng said:"There is a question about Ultimate value,but no answer",or, the ultimate valuer lies in the endless pursuit of the human. Yindi described by Wu Mingshi,searching for the true meaning of life tenaciously, constantly,which gives off radiance ahout human and he is attractive permanently as a literary figure.
