This paper takes Muslim in Baiqi autonomous area of Quanzhou as case study, and uses the methods of history, anthropology, sociology and other interdisciplinary. The paper reviews the history of changes in religious belief in Baiqi, does field research of its religious status, and analyze the social factors which promotes Baiqi's religious change. Then the paper analyzes the marginalization of Islamic issues on the basis of case study.The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the overview of Baiqi autonomous area, and reviews ancestors of surname of Guo and the historical background of their settlement in Baiqi. The second chapter combs the historical development of religious faith in Baiqi. The Muslim of surname of Guo have experienced several faith stages, from Islamic faith to other religious belief, and then with the short-term recovery of the Islamic faith to its disappearance and religious faith status. At the same time, the chapter discusses the burial and funeral ceremonies change which have intimate relations with religious belief. The third chapter analyzes the main factors which influence Islamic faith in Baiqi. These factors contain Confucian culture, strong momentum of folk belief, the development of religious organization, marriage, national politics, state and local social interaction.With this case study of Baiqi Muslim of surname of Guo, the paper makes further study of marginal Islamic issues and presents personal perspectives. The past study about changes of Muslim was based on recognition of Islamic faith. Of course, it is realistic. Although it is not dominant to abandon Islamic faith and convert to other religions in China, it is necessary to discuss marginal Muslim who are far from Islamic culture, or even give up the Islamic culture in modern times.
