Independent College Students' Self-esteem And Career Maturity

The thesis is focus on 1280 students of five Independent Institutes in Jiangxi Province, and takes youngsters Self-worth Scale (Huang Xi ting) and College Students Career Development Inventory (Li Ya zhen) as its approach to talk about the self-worth within college students'impact on maturity of their careers with the research method of correlation analysis, regression analysis and path analysis.The results show that the self-worth of Independent college students is good totally, instead their career maturity remains the lower level; with different demographic characteristics, there exist differences among the self-worth, career maturity and some dimensions for Independent college students. With different particular life experiences, the Independent College students'self-worth, career maturity and these two variables are different in some dimensions; There also exists highly positive correlation among self-worth , career maturity and specific dimensions for independent college students overall. The Independent College students'self-worth have some impact and predication on their overall level of career maturity and every specific dimensions; The Independent College students'self-worth and dimension have some influence and predictions on their career maturity in the overall level. Independent college students in different demographic variables not only have direct effect on their self-worth and career maturity, but also have the indirect impact on the career maturity through mediator as well; With different particular life experiences, Independent College students made direct effect to their self-worth and career maturity, meanwhile through mediator particular life experiences also have indirect impact on the career maturity.For the above research results, this article provides some suggestions for Independent College student counseling work. For example, help and intervene those students who addicted to Internet, provide necessary assistant and financial support for needy students, provide students with more opportunities for professional practice and carry out correct views on love education, etc.
