"ai X bu X" is one of the common structures in Chinese, which is concise and comprehensive. Based on the dynamic grammar view as a guide, this paper did comprehensive analysis on "ai X bu X", using the theory like lexicalization, grammaticalization and the view of "functional sentence pattern". The study is not only the enrichment on Chinese grammar ontology, also the foundation work on application research, especially has important significance on exploring the effective way of Chinese structures teaching. This paper is mainly combined with five parts:In the first part, determine the research object. "ai X bu X" is divided into two structures:type A means "Like X, but not X", type B means "Do X or not depend on you". Type A and B are two different structures with same form.In the second part, we research type A of the structure. "X" in type A is usually a monosyllable verb. And this structure usually used as predicate. Semantically, it means "Like X but not X", which indicates careless or unwillingless. Pragmatically, it can depict the situation and highlight the focus. The expression "ai li bu li" is a special case which has a trend of lexicalization."dai X bu X","si X fei X" and "ban X bu X" are the relevant structures of the type A.The third part is the study on type B of "ai X bu X". Depending on the difference of "X", this structure can de divided into three levels:core, middle and marginal level. "ai" has a grammaticalization. Type B usually used as predicate, sentence or sub-clause. It has three features in semantics:selective, permissive and subjective. Pragmatically, it shows the attitude, tight in textual cohesion and highlight the focus. Its relevant structures are "ai X jiu X", "ai XX"In the forth part we study the generation process of type B. There are three main periods, re-analysising and analogy play vital role during the process.Finally, we study different functions between the two structures, findind that they may have different origins. Moreover, we advocate to combine the function with the structure teaching.This paper has three innovations:resurveying "ai X bu X" from Homomorphism perspective; using grammaticalization theory to discuss the generation of type B; trying to classify the formats according to the function for better structure teaching.
