In this study, the author uses qualitative research method to collect datas and the contents include:children's description of esthetical empathy, the mechanism of esthetical empathy and the characteristics of esthetical empathy.Esthetical empathy, in this paper, is used to describe a kind of feeling that children have when they are listening to the music. Children project their own emotions and wills into the musical works through the way of imagination and association. They feel that the music lives just like they live, at this time, the children and the music are in the same union.How does the esthetical empathy happen on 5-6 years old children? The author's opinion is that the melody of music is formed by duration combinations of pitch, sound intensity and length quantity. The music created a kind of "force", which is with the performance of emotion。When children's sense of "force" is in correspondence with the emotional performance of music, children's senses will transfer and the phenomenon of synesthesia will occur. With the increasing complexity and depth of children's emotional experience, the boundary between the music and children's emotions is gradually blurred. Just in this way, can the music get the life and emotion just like a human being, and thus the esthetic empathy is produced by children.In this paper, the researcher illustrates five characteristics of 5-6 years old children's esthetical empathy, which are unconsciousness, individuality, emotionality, sensitivity and fuzziness. Children's esthetical empathy has the characteristic of unconsciousness because of their Oedipal feeling and lacking of the ability of thinking their own emotions. It has the characteristic of individuality because children's musical experience is based on their life experience and their unique aesthetic perspectives. Emotion is the link of music creator, musical works and the children, so children's esthetic empathy gets the characteristic of emotionality. However, young children can not feel the music by rational reasoning, they grasp and understand the music by their own intuition, that's why their esthetical empathy has the characteristic of sensitivity. And also, Children may have some uncertainty impression after listening to a piece of music, their empathy takes on some nature of ambiguity and uncertainty, this kind of esthetical empathy occurs under children's non-rational state. According to the mechanism and characteristic of 5-6 years old children's esthetical empathy, the author puts forward several suggestions to promote children's such feeling. First of all, teachers should use more visualized and emotional methods during appreciating music with the children. Secondly, teachers should establish an equal relationship with children. Finally, teachers should choose some representational or classical music for children, so that they can have aesthetic empathy more easily.
