The characters concerned in this article emerged from the later Spring and Autumn Period to the period before Qin Dynasty unifying China. They can be divided into two parts:(1) the new characters, which had never been recognized in the Shang Dynasty, the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn Period. (2) the new forms, which had been recognized in the Shang Dynasty, the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn Period, but its form had changed a lot. First of all, we compare the characters newly emerged in the Warring States Period with the characters emerged in the Shang Dynasty, the western Zhou dynasty and the Spring and Autumn Period,then pick up the characters newly emerged and compile them into a dictionary.After that, we analyze some representative forms, hoping to provide some evidence for research on the characters emerged in the Warring States Period. This article consists of two parts:the first part "Research" includes the summary, the interpretation to the characters newly emerged and the conclusion; the second part "Dictionary" was complied into 14 volumes according to the style of Shuo Wen Jie Zi, and the Words-character are not included.
