According to his own words, from 1935,when he was 47 years old, he began to learn flower-and-bird paintings by the numbers, however, learning Chinese painting in the dark of the north ultimately for the impressive Chinese painting flowers. He inherit the traditional painting skills, reference, and summarizes the folk art creation theory, cultivating many descendants for developing modern flower-and-bird paintings, as making great contributions to the development of the painting,he was known as the "the first ancester of Beijing ShuangGou flower and-bird painting".After the founding of China, he entered a peak of creation, he paint peony in summer, antumn and winter, showing an ideal beauty embodiment. His disciple the lady of Lao She,Mrs Hu Jie Qing commented:"he make something new in the the tradition of years, breaking the custom of the boring things in painting, and bring people the kind, dynamic, and extremely perfect beauty". In the dark, it is undoubtedly more passionate later age. From the "old" tradition, he make a aesthetic appeal of "new" vitality, and paid a variety of efforts, in the traditional inheriting,a breakthrough, and the transformation of successful completion of the artistic style, but he left to fellow Chinese painters little regret.
