The Research Of Chinese New Words From 2006 To 2008

The new words dictionaries, which compiled according to the time, record the new things and phenomenon of that year in detail. This article regards 1036 words of the books "Chinese new words of 2006", "Chinese new words of 2007", "Chinese new words of 2008", which edited by Zhou Jian and Hou Ming, and published by the commercial press as the research object, it quantitatively observes the change trend of vocabularies in the period from 2006 to 2008, discuss the new visage of these words and the social development path under the influence of language development rules and society.This article has six parts. Part one is the introduction. It talks about the research object, the research aim, the current state of research, the research thinking and the basic method. Part two explains the collection situation of new words, and defines the concept of "new word". Part three discusses the language feature of new words, mainly compares the number of syllable of new words from 2006 to 2008, and focuses on the construction mode of 2 and 3 syllables words. This part gets the regular features in the process of new words evolution based on data statistics and comparative analysis.At the same time, it pays attention to the combination of point and aspect, analyzes some typical words and quasi -suffix to reveal the reason why they are popular. Part four focuses on the basic types and the producing methods of new words, then analyzes the reason why different kinds of words are popular. Part five mainly describes new words of different social fields, truly represents the change of people's thought and life style in the fields of social politics, economy, culture, sports and so on. Part six analyzes the interaction between new words and social change, mainly reveals the social phenomenon by lots of new words which created by new figure and events that society pays extensive attention to. On the other hand, it watches the relevant words which produced in the social events of Earthquake, Beijing Olympics and Financial crisis. In a conclusion, Trisyllables play an important role in Chinese words. Besides, the main methods of word formation are modifier disyllabic compounds and additional compounds; abbreviation and analogy are of importance to form a new word, these are predominantly reflected in new words in economics and in the daily life, so there are interactions between new words and society.
