| A Study of Byron's mainly famous and representative works,such as Don Juan, Child Harold's Pilgrimage,The Corsair,The Giaour and The Prometheus. The Position and its significance of Greek image is very important in the Byron's exotic images. Integrity analysis about Greek image is helpful not only to make clear the relationship between Byron and the Greek ,but further to provide a new way of understanding Byron.The dissertation consists of five chapters. At first,"the introduction", it reviews Sino-Western studies of Byron's exotic image and clarifies the theoretical and practical significance of the subject. Chapter one,"Byron's pilgrimage in Greek and writing on Greek", it introduces some stories of Byron in Greek,in order that make sure that"Greek image"is based on Byron's experience of life .Chapter Two," the history deepth of Greek image" , the main analysis way is how to treat the histroy and current situation of Greek through the contrast nowdays and the last day,and project Byron's sight to the national liberation movement to present the history feelings of Byron.Chapter Three " the reality dimensionality of Greek image", it introduces the critization of the Greeks who indulge their present state which made by Byron,and take the " The Isles of Greece" as example. it wakes up the numbed in Greek and other European who be enslaved to resist , manifesting the nationlism qulity of Byron. Chapter Four " the human dismensionality of Greek image" , it mainly introduces the Greek human image made by Byron to express Byron's ideal imagination to the exotic image of Greeks . Chapter Five " the connotation of Greece image" it explians carefully the intense relationship between the Greek and Byron.at the same time , it explores the contradictoriness of Byron's world view and its reason. my core anlysis of Byron image is the freedom spirits. the last epilogue is to define the meanings of freedom in Byron's heart, and summary the aim of this paper and the problems in it. |
