Zhang Houzai was an outstanding drama theorist in the early twentieth century, his theories of Opera, comments of Peking has always been around the stage performance of the Chinese drama, especially his "illusion of knowing", "free space" with the irreplaceable value in the Chinese opera history.It is universally believed that Zhang Houzai was the model of conservative by educational circles and they are concentrating on the period of Debate of old and new drama. As a matter of fact, Zhang Houzai is not a thoroughly conservative, he is only repeatedly stressed that opera aesthetic principle is the prerequisite in artistic creation, performance. It would be in vain if anyone who breaks "the true spirit" of traditional drama. In his critic life of Peking Opera, Zhang's works are theoretically and practically as well and had a high historical value.This paper tries to induce, summarize the history of Zhang's opera aesthetics;based on the previous studies and much first hand information I collected these years. With deep exploration and thinking, focus will be placed on "Beijing Opera improvement, Opera Aesthetically analysis and induction, and sorting out a number of academic issues, the paper hopes to think that some of the controversial issues with the end stages, and tries to provide a complete research framework by continue to study the drama theory. |
