The Research Of Li Kaixian's Poems

Li Kaixian is a famous writer in the Jiajing Period of Ming Dynasty. The research community only pays attention to his drama creation for a long time, so his poetry research has little achievement. In fact, Li Kaixian is active when the Former Seven turn to the Late Seven and at the same time Tang -Song School lead off for the opposition to Retro School. But the Li Kaixian develops a school of his own for the creation in the early Jialing Period. He doesn't belong to Retro School or follow Tang -Song School. He develops his specific style which is writing what you want to directly and not caring about the words.My treatise has six chapters and is divided into four parts. Part one will analyze the context of Li Kaixian's poetry creation from his three important literary circles. And there are Retro School, Tang -Song School and Zhangqiu Ci Club. In the early time Retro School affected Li Kaixian. When he came to the capital he changed his Literary Theory and opposed revivalism with Jiajing eight. Because of the political struggle, Li Kaixian went home when he was forty, and he founded Zhangqiu Ci Club to create folk literature. Literary circles which have different style affect Li Kaixian's poetry creation together.Part two analyze Li Kaixian's poetic theory which develops under these surroundings. His literature is unique. First, he supports the literary evolution and affirms the value of folk literature, such as Ci and Qu.He point at the genetic relationship between elegant literature and folk literature. He appraises the Former Seven and Jiajing Eight overall and objectively in the sight of literature. Second, he insists on the nature poetics to his poetry creation. He holds that individual character is important to the creation and he opposes to imitate the ancients.We can get it through the three -pronged approach which is conception, emotion and expression.Part three is the analyzing of poetry's subject matter and artistic feature. According to the subject matter, Li Kaixian's poetry can be divided into three parts: politics poems, lyric poetry and travel poems. Li Kaixian is proud to be an official and don't like to be a writer, so his politics poems have something special that others don't have. That is strong political participation except reflecting real life. As a whole, the specialty of his poems is complicated selection, sincere affection expression, common language and lots of poems with one rhyme.Part four is the analyzing of Li Kaixian's Sanqu. His Sanqu is bounded by his returning, divided into two parts. Creation in early days is heroic and in later period is wretched. As a whole, they are typical style of North Sanqu.So we can fill in gaps in the research of Li Kaixian through researching his poems. We also will know the whole literary activities of Li Kaixian in the Jiajing Period.
