Cognitive Linguistics forms its theory on cognitive science. In the meantime, Cognitive Linguistics and cognitive science have synchronous development and complementary relationship. It takes experiential realism, also known as embodiment, as its philosophy basis. Cognitive Linguistics mainly studies the relationship between the language universal principle and the human cognitive law.Frame Theory is one of research topics in Cognitive Linguistics. Frame is a cognitive model, which represents the knowledge and beliefs pertaining to specific and frequently recurring situations. Frame provides conceptual background for semantic understanding and description. In the same frame, the speakers may select different angles, choose different words, and then the word profiles different aspect. To the word-chosen problem, the Frame Theory can explain more specific and more persuasive, and other cognitive models do not have this advantage.Song Lyrics (许渊冲1992) is a big treasure of Chinese Literature. And Elegant Ci (张英2006) is a shining part of it. Introducing Elegant Ci to the world is an important task for the translators. The English translation of Elegant Ci has achieved some successes; however, it also has defects. The previous researches on English translation of Song Lyrics are from culture, image, Embodied Conceptualization etc. perspective, but nobody from the perspective of Frame Theory. By analyzing the profiles of the parts of Elegant Ci, exploring the poet's attention focus, this thesis analyzes whether the parts in English version keeping equivalent with the original text, and whether the choice of words being proper. The specific research questions of this thesis are:1. How the future translators to use Frame Theory to make the artistic conception of original text been conveyed in the translation version?2. How the future translators with help of Frame Theory to make the style of original text been represented in the translation version?3. How the future translators with the guidance of Frame Theory to realize the metrical beauty of original text in the translation version? This paper uses one of the Cognitive Linguistics theories– Frame Theory to compare and analyze the image, artistic conception, style, form of different Elegant Ci translated versions. The conclusion is that Frame Theory can guide the translators to create translation equivalence to the original text in three parts: content, including the text meaning and image and artistic conception, style, form, and also help readers to appreciate the translated version more target-oriented.
