The painter's idea in creative process is the key to cognize the works. As an independent painting type, still life painting formed in Dutch in 17th century. By the influence of preliminary transformation from feudalism to capitalism, the Dutch society presented prosperous situations at various aspects, the painting of the Dutch Golden Age has unique effects to art history. So it will play an undoubtedly important role in researching the type of still life that investigating the ideas in 17th century Dutch still life paintings.Historians have rarely works on the ideas in Dutch still life paintings, so this paper discusses Dutch still life paintings from the angle of idea, and tries to deepen the understanding and research of the Dutch still life paintings. The author believes that the ideas in 17th century Dutch still life paintings embodies two aspects: truthful depiction and perceptual interpretation. Truthful and exquisite depiction to the object reflects the painters'attention to real life, and it's the basic expression technique of Dutch still life painting which is as a kind of reappearance art. And on the other the objects in works also have some kind of ductility, including painters'subjective intentions and interpretations.Taking still life's origin and background as the breakthrough point, this paper analysis the formation sources of Dutch still life paintings'ideas, and interprets the connotations in works from the angle of Iconography, then deduces and expounds the ideas in the Dutch still life paintings, and summarizes the influences and enlightenments of Dutch still life painting'ideas on later painting creation. The paper is divided into three chapters:The first chapter begins with the still life component in ancient paintings, concludes on the different functions in every step of still life towards an independence type, and deduces the reason why Dutch still life painters paid such close attention to real life through the evolution of ideas in paintings. And on the other through the Netherland traditional painting, Protestant ethic and the development of capitalism commodity economy three aspects, to analyze the historical background of the ideas appeared in the Dutch still life paintings, and restores the formation process of the ideas in Dutch still life paintings.The second chapter focuses on the performance of the ideas in Dutch still life paintings, it's the central part of this papers. This chapter is divided into two parts, one is the fine depict characteristic on the surface of Dutch still life paintings, which is visual. Two is the painters'subjective intentions deep contained in images, which is perceptual. Both of the two aspects support the creation of still life paintings.The third chapter summarizes the influences of Dutch still life paintings. Dutch still life paintings not only eliminated the long attachment to grand theme, also greatly influenced the topic and creation of 19th century Realism painting. The pure aesthetic space the still life paintings constructed has played an definite important role in later painting creations, and its special social environment also opened up the situation of promotion and development between art and economy.As one"absent"in 17th Dutch, the author tried to avoid the danger of making the state sentences into mechanical duplications or the stubborn metaphysical views, paying attention to the subject consciousness of the painter in the creation, and the mutual perception between man and works, and trying to use the way of combination of vision and perception to understand the story between the painters and the objects, the spirit and reality in 17th century Dutch still life painting. |
