Brainstem has been considered as a restricted area of the neurosurgery operation, because the risk of surgery is high and the complications are more. There are no accurate and quantitative description about the spatial form, spatial location and the adjacent to each other of the nucleus in the brainstem. Three-dimensional shape and position of the three-dimensional reconstruction of the wedge nucleus can provide a way for the further study of the brainstem nuclei, and also to provide reference data for the clinical surgery of the brain surgery. This research is involved in this research field in three-dimensional shape and position of the brainstem nuclei, and to lay the foundation for future accurate quantitative three-dimensional study of brainstem nuclei.First, determine the frame of reference. To facilitate research and clinical application of the principles, to establish suitable for positioning steady state reference coordinate system of the brainstem nuclei.Then, the three-dimensional reconstruction. Nuclei on the left side of the length of9.845mm, the width of5.827mm, height is5.631mm, the volume was137.1mm3and; right side of the length of the nuclei is9.124mm, the width is6.143mm, height is5.355mm, the volume was130.4mm3.
